I'm sitting in the popular Clique café on the Danube embankment and in the pleasant atmosphere of the interior I'm waiting for Mrs. Renata. Here comes a laughing, thin woman with a pleasant voice who is a dog lover, even though her love for four-legged pets changed her smile two years ago.
Hello Renate tell us what actually happened?
Hello. I had a beautiful golden retriever - this breed is family friendly, very calm and peaceful, you can literally put it on bread. It was evening, we were getting ready for bed and I was cuddling with two other dogs and this golden one was lying there in the den, so curled up, so I thought I'd give him a kiss and give him a hug too. I didn't know he was asleep and as I made a "snap" sound with my lips, he got scared and snapped me right in the bottom lip.
That must have hurt a lot...
I'll surprise you, but no, I didn't feel the pain that much. Rather, I imagined and feared that I no longer had a bottom lip, because there was a heap of blood pouring out of it. I woke up the whole family and we went to the hospital.
Did the condition require hospitalization?
I was told in the emergency room that they would not stitch it up because they needed to have a plastic surgeon look at it since part of my lip was missing. We went to the state hospital, there it was many days of checks and dressings but I still had a puncture even after various interventions. It was obvious on sight that I had very asymmetrical lips and the surface was bumpy. I was very unhappy about it, I guess any woman would be, lips define us after all. However, I couldn't call the doctor anymore, the covid complicated the whole thing. Eventually, I even accepted that it would be in such a terrible state.
When did the turning point come and did you decide to try and tackle it again?
It was fate. I happened to meet a doctor from your clinic and he gave me back hope that it can be dealt with and there is a chance that my lips will be nice again. He advised me to see Dr. Przewlocka, saying that she could reverse the condition. A word was given and I had already made an appointment with the doctor. He was right, she had reversed him!
What was the procedure?
The doctor was great. She looked me over, we talked, she studied the reports and then chose a course of action. "The original filler, which had not been applied correctly, had dissolved and was located in front of and behind the scar, so by dissolving it, we released the scar and then just
model the lip
. Since part of the lip is missing, the client will have to go for hyaluronic acid supplementation regularly for the rest of her life to make her lips symmetrical. We have several options in terms of techniques, and in addition to standard modelling, the technique can often help

," adds MUDr. Vanda Przewlocka, Director of the Institute of Health and Beauty FRAIS.
Did it help improve your mental state?
Honestly, in the beginning I was worried that I would look unnatural like all those women who go overboard with their size. Dr. Przewlocka did a great job. If the stitched part of the lip didn't have a different shade of color, I wouldn't even know it was different. When I have lipstick on my lips, no one notices the difference. So it definitely helped my mental side. After the bite, I was worried that my lip was gone and only my teeth would be visible. These predictions have not come true and I can sleep soundly.

One last question, which I think everyone will be interested in, has your relationship with dogs changed?
I'm a dog lover and nothing will ever change that fact, I just have a soft spot for them. The accident that happened to me was also my fault, because as an experienced and long-time dog breeder I could have foreseen how the dog would react, but out of so much love I didn't realise it at the time. Thank goodness there are people like Dr. Przewlocka who can perform miracles almost on a moment's notice.
"We are really happy that we could make someone's life more pleasant and bring back the lost smile from their lips," concludes MUDr. Vanda Przewlocka, PhD.
