An unwanted pregnancy is a situation that arises quickly and catches a woman in front of a serious decision for which she may not always be prepared.
We are aware that the decision to have an abortion was preceded by mature and difficult reflection. If you decide to have an abortion, it is important that you do so on your own, knowing that it is the best decision for you at the time. Therefore, in this difficult situation for a woman, our greatest effort is to ensure maximum intimacy, discretion and a friendly environment for our clients. Artificial termination of pregnancy in Slovakia is governed by Act 73/1986 Coll. and the relevant decree of the Ministry of Health. Artificial abortion is allowed in Slovakia until 12. week of pregnancy, counted from the first day of the last menstrual period.
The condition for the performance is:
- That the length of pregnancy be up to a maximum of 12. week of gestation.
- The client fills in the “Request for abortion” form in the outpatient clinic and confirms with her signature that she has been informed about the risks of this procedure and that she has been instructed about contraception.
- In the case of a minor, the written informed consent of the minor’s legal representative is a condition for the performance of an abortion.
Postoperative course:
After the procedure itself, the client may experience mild pain in the lower abdomen, which usually subsides quickly and does not require treatment.
Before going for home treatment, each patient is briefed on her health status and arranges a follow-up appointment.
After the procedure, it is necessary to observe a resting regime, avoid lifting heavy loads and behaviours that could lead to bleeding, respectively. clogging of the infection (do not use menstrual tampons, vaginal lavage, limit sexual intercourse for at least 3-4 weeks). Only showering is recommended, not bathing.
