Many mycoses are already clinically visible at first glance.
To diagnose mycosis, scales are taken from the damaged lesion and sent for mycological examination. Not all of them need to be diagnosed, an experienced dermatologist can recognize many of them at first glance.
Vaginal mycosis is dealt with by smear in a gynaecological outpatient clinic.
Nail mycosis – onychomycosis is mainly a health problem, but the aesthetic effect is also not negligible. Mould can quickly spread from one nail to the next and to the surrounding skin. Modern medicine is now able to deal with nail mycosis, whether on the feet or hands, very effectively, even without the need to take antifungals, i.e. drugs to treat mycosis. These are suitable as an adjunctive treatment in therapy.
Depending on the extent, we treat mycosis with topical treatments, i.e. ointments, lotions and varnishes. If it is more widespread, we switch to systemic antifungals.
An alternative to systemic antifungals is currently FOX laser treatment. Treatment is outpatient, almost painless and quick. One session lasts approximately thirty minutes, with the number of repetitions depending on the extent of nail damage. The Fox laser is able to deliver laser radiation through the affected nail bed to the biological tissue where the target pathogens are located. The laser beam destroys them very effectively, while also eliminating any fungal and mycotic germs that could cause the disease again. It kills fungi and moulds very effectively. After their destruction, a healthy nail already grows out.
You do not need any recovery after the procedure. Mycosis treatment can be a one-time treatment, but especially for larger onychomycosis (more advanced stages, or affecting more nails) we recommend several sessions to achieve the desired result. No visible wounds or damage to the nail or surrounding skin remain after treatment.
The main advantages of FOX laser treatment of nail mycosis:
- A relatively simple solution
- Kills fungus and helps cure the nail
- After the destruction of the fungus, a healthy nail grows out
- No need to take antifungals
The first FOX laser treatment must be preceded by an initial consultation with our dermatologist. From a hygienic point of view, it is necessary to have a pedicure before each FOX laser treatment.
