Epicutaneous tests are an innovative way of detecting contact dermatitis, i.e. allergy to substances that has developed after contact with the skin.
These are patch skin tests that can detect allergies to up to 32 substances very accurately, even without the need to take a blood sample.
Allergens are often common substances found in cosmetics, such as perfumes or creams, but also substances used in the home or at work, such as paints, varnishes, glues, rubber products, preservatives, pharmaceuticals, metals (especially nickel), etc.
Thanks to our epicutaneous tests, we can detect possible contact dermatitis very accurately, easily and comfortably, even without the need to take a blood sample.
The most common triggers of contact dermatitis are cosmetics, perfumes, pharmaceuticals and cleaning products, adhesives, paints, varnishes, preservatives, rubber products, but also many metals, especially nickel.
Patients come into contact with many products on a daily basis, especially if they use them at work (e.g. hairdressers for hair dyes and preparations, or shoemakers for shoe manufacturing, etc.).
However, there are often cases where contact dermatitis occurs after accidental use of a product, but the patient is not sure what triggered it.
Our standard epicutaneous tests can detect allergies to up to 32 allergens at once.
If you are in a specific occupation and need to test for an unusual substance, you can also request to be retested for a specific substance.
