Rosacea is a chronic disease of the face, but also of the décolleté. Several factors are involved.
It most often affects people who belong to light phototypes. Rosacea manifests itself first by reddening of the skin (mostly on the cheeks or nose) and later by dilated veins. Gradually, diffuse redness of the cheeks, chin, nose and forehead, couperose, boils and pustules may appear. Sometimes rosacea also affects the eye area, which can lead to the formation of barley grains and conjunctivitis.
In the most severe cases, there may be tissue exuberance called. rhinophyma. In rhinophyme, the nose is larger, thickened. It may give the wrong impression to those around you that those affected are alcoholics.
The disease can be provoked by heat or excessive sun exposure and stress. It is necessary to avoid activities that have an irritating effect on this disease, e.g. sauna, direct sun, heating by infra-thermal lamp, hot thermal baths.
We use IPL therapy for treatment. With the help of an optimally selected program, the coils are reduced and the redness is gradually removed (the walls of the coils are coagulated and thus the vessel becomes invisible). It is very advisable, in conjunction with the treatment and to achieve long-term results, to use creams or gels designed for reddened skin, which improve the reactivity of the skin vessels. The most suitable periods for the procedure are autumn and winter.
The more severe form is treated with an electric needle and application of mesobotox. It is not applied to the muscle to paralyze the mimic muscles, but to the skin and in greater dilution. It reduces the distensibility of the coils, and the patient is less red. At the same time, sebum production is also reduced. Special cosmetic treatments developed for the treatment of rosacea-affected skin are an appropriate complementary care.
