Treatment with high-dose vitamin C, covid19 and vitamin C

SARS-CoV-2 RNA coronavirus (PCR, gargle test) is an RT-PCR, Real-The consequences of vitamin C deficiency and how to obtain it have been known to humans for centuries. Sailors already knew around 1700 that they could prevent disease by eating enough oranges and lemons.

In history, there are known cases of death of pirates and shipwrecked pirates who died after a long voyage due to lack of plant food. Gradually, their teeth fell out, they were plagued by fractured bones, festering wounds and crumbling skin. PCR (polymerase chain reaction with reverse transcription) and self-collection of biological material in the form of oral and pharyngeal swabs obtained by gargling.

A similar scenario awaited Jacques Cartier's crew. They were rescued by an Indian who advised the entire crew to consume tree bark and needles, which are rich in vitamin C. Jacques Cartier decided to spread the message of the healing trees to the world, but he was not met with acclaim, but with ridicule. Officially, vitamin C was not discovered until much later. First obtained from cabbage and in 1928 from peppers. The scientist Albert Szent-Györgyi was even awarded the Nobel Prize in 1937 for this achievement.

Vitamin C, also referred to as L-ascorbic acid (L-300), is an important part of every healthy person's body. It acts as an antioxidant and produces collagen to take care of healthy gums, teeth, bones and blood vessels. While most animals can make their own vitamin C, humans depend on external intake. Either through selected fruits and vegetables, water-soluble powders and tablets, or one of the most sought-after forms of vitamin C dosage is the intravenous method, i.e. the administration of high-dose vitamin C into a vein This method is particularly suitable during periods of reduced immunity to strengthen it (spring, autumn, winter). Preventive administration of high doses of vitamin C into the vein is recommended for people in a state of oxidative stress. These are usually patients with the following conditions: recurrent upper respiratory tract infections, chronic viral or bacterial infections such as Lyme disease, recurrent herpes, infectious mononucleosis or herpes zoster, allergic diseases, histamine intolerance, athletes with a high physical load, chronic fatigue syndrome, oncological diseases, rheumatic and degenerative diseases of the joints or spine. Infusion therapy with vitamin C may be recommended in the period of convalescence after prolonged illnesses of various origins and after surgery to promote wound healing.

Why infuse vitamin C?

In order to achieve the healing effects of vitamin C, it is necessary to create almost 15 times higher concentration in the blood and this cannot be achieved by administration in tablet form or by diet, due to the limited transport capacity of the intestine. In the intravenous form of vitamin C administration, it is possible to administer even 7.5g at a time. Before administering vitamin C, it is important for the physician to evaluate the patient's renal function.

Can high doses of vitamin C hurt?

Vitamin C cannot be overdosed, what is not consumed by the body is excreted (mostly in urine or faeces).

Vitamin C and viruses

According to the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019, the third leading cause of death was unhealthy diets related to vitamin deficiencies. Due to poor eating habits and unhealthy lifestyles, 7.9 million people died in 2019.

It is scientifically proven that for optimal protection against viruses, a daily intake of several vitamins and minerals is necessary. The most crucial micronutrients that are essential for the proper functioning of the immune system are vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc and omega-3 fatty acids. A balanced diet and the inclusion of these vitamins in daily life is an important factor in protecting the body against viral diseases. The authors of this study point to the fact that vitamin intake is a very simple, not expensive and, most importantly, a really effective way to reduce the possibility of contracting viral diseases. Vitamin C and COVID-19

There are several studies that confirm improvement in the condition of patients with COVID-19 when given high-dose vitamin C. These included studies in China, Canada, the USA, Italy,... Source: www.clinicaltrials.gov. One of the countries that has the most experience with COVID-19 treatment is China. Among other treatment techniques, they incorporated COVID-19, a vitamin C infusion therapy, into the treatment and prevention process. According to a new clinical trial, high-dose vitamin C can jump-start and strengthen the immune system while protecting it from inflammation and viruses (Study: "Vitamin C Infusion for the Treatment of Severe 2019-nCoV Infected Pneumonia" - ClinicalTrials.gov is a resource provided by U.S. National Library of Medicine).
